Dr. Bishop LeRoy Robert Anderson is the Presiding Prelate of the Arizona Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.  On January 18, 1921, in Fort Worth, Texas, LeRoy Robert Anderson was born the second son of Elder Willie O. and Sister Ada Cross Anderson.  Bishop Anderson has come from a five-year-old cotton picker, to the position that he now holds as the Senior Pastor of the Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, and a member of the General Board, the governing body of the Church of God in Christ.

After receiving his formal education in Breckenridge, Texas, and San Antonio, Texas, “Brother LeRoy” went on to further his education at Page Normal Industrial and Bible Institute (a C.O.G.I.C. private school).  Bishop is the proud father of five wonderful daughters, who presented him with fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Brother Anderson served in the United States Air force for three years, three months, and nine days.  There he received many citations, and was discharged as a Staff Sergeant.

In his mid sixties, Brother Anderson was introduced to Zoe University. Shortly, thereafter, he enrolled in the university and remained there until he earned both his Bachelor’s and master’s degree.  Because of his age, his classmates affectionately knew Brother Anderson as “Father Abraham”.  Because of his faithfulness and dedication to his work, Brother Anderson was presented with an “honorary” Doctorate of Divinity degree.

Bishop Anderson has served the Church of God in Christ in the following positions: junior Deacon, Deacon, unlicensed Minister, licensed Minister, junior Pastor, Pastor, District Superintendent, Assistant Overseer, Bishop, and for twenty five years, General Board Member.  He has also served as the Interim Bishop over twenty-seven jurisdictions.

Bishop has a tremendous biography, but the most impressive fact is that he is a Saint of the Most High God, a lover of God’s people and a Gospel preacher.
